Note: Age Laws Creators Need to Follow

Just a reminder and a heads up:

It does not matter if you or your client is in a country where the age of consent or majority is under the age of 18. We are bound by the laws of not only the country in which we live, but also the country in which our client lives, and the country of which our platform is headquartered. So for example, regardless of where you or your client are from, if you sell content on Reddit, or Twitter, etc, your clients must be over the age of 18 because those platforms are headquartered within countries that have the age of consent is at 18 plus.

It has happened multiple times for me where a client will come and say hey I am under the age of 18 but in my country that is over the age of consent. That’s great for them. But, I could still land C.P. charges because where I am, the US, that is not the age of consent or majority. Even if I was not in the US, I am still selling on Reddit which is a US-based company which means I must keep the US laws in mind.

Age verification is so important Y’all. So is keeping in mind the laws governing where you live, where your client lives, and where the platform you are conducting your business on is headquartered.

Here is a resource breaking down age verification if anyone needs it

Stay safe y’all ♥️
