Writing a Best Selling About Me For Creators

We can all agree that sitting down and writing out a about me post is just not something to look forward to. It can feel awkward as hell sitting down and just talking about yourself for others to then come to conclusions about you on. However, that about me can be the sales pitch you need to get a good subscriber or buyer. The trick is to bring in sales psychology and mix that with your personality, and all the juicy info needed!

What elements does a good about me have?

For adult content creators it is going to depend a bit on the platform you are posting this to. But, here is a rundown of the basics:

  • Blurbs about yourself showcasing you! Here are some examples to start with if you get stuck:
    • Who you are as a creator
    • Your personality
    • The kind of content you create
    • Why you create content
    • What you enjoy about it
  • Your content menus, or at least where to find them via a hyperlink.
    • Remember, the fewer clicks it takes a buyer to get from social Post on a feed, to your menu and DMs the better.
  • Your limitations and terms.
  • Your current and updated payment methods
  • Any important off links such as your drawer, link host or domain, selling platform, subscription page etc.
  • Social proof such as reviews.
  • Any requirements for sales you have such as age verification.
    • Its incredibly helpful to detail out the processes you have. That way a buyer can decide whether or not they will comply with them without having to go through your DMs first.

How do we use sales psychology in an about me?

I swear I am not tooting my own horn in this, but we are using my Reddit about me and menu post for an example. You can find that in full here. Content Warning: Lewd, lingerie

Post Text Reads:

Well hey hey y’all! You might already know me or we might just be about to meet. You might also know me from my original Reddit account forlaughingtime! Same wild child, different account!! Either way I am so happy you popped on by here!

I figured it would be damn helpful to have a whole bunch of this info hanging out in one place rather than y’all having to run around the web looking for it, so I compiled (and I am hoping it makes sense)!

I get asked what is my favorite one of those goodies to get to do so let me tell ya! ALL OF THEM! Okay fine… If I had to pick just one I would say sexting! Or maybe rates? Or custom videos! Or even cam sessions! How about all of those! And it counts as one!

To be honest my favorite part of making digital content is and always will be when I get to meet, then get to know someone and we dive in together! Let our inhibitions go, and just enjoy each other! Doesn’t matter if that is during a spicy hot session where both of our clothes come flying off, or if that is the times when we are just chatting and getting to know each other, I love them all!

🪪 Age Verification 🪪

I tried to make this as easy and painless as possible. I will not send a link to tip or any content until this has been done together. Anything sent prior to this will be considered a gift. This is for everyone’s safety and well being y’all!

For age verification all I ever ask to see is a very, very heavily redacted or covered up official document and the only thing I need to see is the date of birth! You can cover or redact everything else. I do need to be able to see all four corners of the document in the image please.

Most people use their ID as it’s easiest, but others have used everything from a passport to a birth certificate!

You can redact on your device or even just cover things up with paper!

Phew! That was a thick girthy one to write and probably to read, But we did it y’all! Thank you for sitting with my nonsense and I cannot wait to spend time with you!

Sales Psychology Techniques Used

This post covered all of the above 7 basics that an about me should have. It also plays very heavily into sales psychology and took me for freaking ever to do. Lets break it down.

1. Personalization & Relatability (Know, Like, Trust Factor)

“Well hey hey y’all!… Either way I am so happy you popped on by here!”

This shows my personality right off the bat and shows that I am approachable, open to talk, and a real person behind the creator. Now here’s the kicker, I chose this because that is my branding. Stick to yours for maximum efficiency.

2. Authority & Social Proof (Reduces Risk Perception)

“Featured Provider of the Month”
“Reviews from FetishBuyersCommunity, SexSells”

Sharing my reviews positions me as a vetted and respected creator backed by community recognition. Buyers are more likely to purchase when others have done so and were satisfied. Sharing your reviews creates confidence and trust.

3. Clarity + Transparency (Eliminates Buyer Hesitation)

“I figured it would be damn helpful to have a whole bunch of this info hanging out in one place…”

This removes the mental friction. Clients hate having to search for the details. resenting everything up front makes decision-making easy. Being transparent with your info is leaning into the principle of Cognitive fluency. Put simply, the easier something is to process, the more true and trustworthy it feels. You reduce buyer resistance through clear pricing and process explanations.

4. Emotional Safety + Consent Awareness

“If you’re unsure if your idea is SFW or NSFW, I will absolutely let you know ahead of time…”

This signals that I genuinely care about mutual comfort and clarity, making the buyer feel respected and safe. For higher-ticket or intimate purchases, emotional safety = increased willingness to buy.

5. Trust-Building Legal/Ethical Boundaries

“I will not send a link to tip or any content until this has been done together… this is for everyone’s safety.”

This shows you are putting mutual safety first, while still maintaining that transparency about your practices. Legitimate buyers are far more likely to engage when they feel protected from scams or risk. This boosts your credibility immensely.

6. Fun & Branding Language (Emotional Branding)

“Phew! That was a thick girthy one…”
“Dig into the drawer here!”

This is me laying into my branding of girl next door, approachable friend you’ve always wanted. It keeps things memorable and removes some of the transaction aspect. If it matches your brand as well as mine, some things to know is that Humor and personality improve emotional engagement, which makes buyers remember you and come back.

7. Visual Structure & Skimmability

Use of emojis, headers, categories (Reviews, Limits, Links, etc.)

This helps reduce mental fatigue and prevents clients from being overwhelmed. This is a lot of information to fit into one post. When people feel overwhelmed, they leave. This structure avoids cognitive overload and helps guide the purchase decision faster.

Reasons This Post Works

1. Introduces me, not just my content

“Same wild child, different account!!”

Right off the bat I am bringing personality. I’m not Just another creator, I’m a whole ass character. I use informal welcoming language to feel more human and present. This builds any media emotional connection.

2. It sets my brand tone clearly

“Shall we just dig in?!”
“That was a thick girthy one…”

I immediately established my voice as playful, confident, and pretty cheeky. That matches my girl next door but spicy brand. It helps people know what to expect from my content and interactions, instantly grab my vibe, and feel like they’re getting the real side of me.

3. I communicate values & boundaries upfront

“I want us to be comfy!”
“This is for everyone’s safety…”

I’m not just trying to sell in my about me post, I’m also laying down ground rules but I’m doing it in a warm and collaborative tone. It’s showing that I care about mutual respect, that I’m experienced in what I’m doing, and that I’m trustworthy and emotionally intelligent and aware of others emotional needs. This builds a huge amount of trust with new fans and buyers.

4. I show my range—person, performer, provider

A lot of about me or bios are very small and too vague or strictly transactional. It’s important to include personality, how to interact with you, what you offer what you enjoy and how you operate. You’re about me should read like a tour of you as a creator. Not just your menu.

5. You reduce anxiety for buyers AND curious fans

“Here’s a rundown…”
“I tried to make this as easy and painless as possible…”

“Have an idea for a wear I didn’t stick in there? Let’s talk about it together!”
“Most people use their ID as it’s easiest, but others have used everything from a passport to a birth certificate!”

As we spoke on earlier breaking down your policies and making sure all of your crucial information is in one place can not only help someone decide whether to work with you, but also quell any anxieties that someone might have. It helps to anticipate their questions remove pressures and make them feel seen. Especially for newer or hesitant buyers.

6. Reflects confidence without arrogance

“FBC’s Featured Provider of the Month interview!”
“All reviews on one page!”

There’s a delicate balance to ride between selling yourself and over-hyping yourself to the point of it just being a spam billboard. Try to just present clear options, show receipts like reviews and social proof, and set solid expectations. Having that confidence is a magnet for buyers. It’s showing that you know your worth You don’t need to beg for attention and you’re in full control. It makes buyers feel like they’re buying from a seasoned and stable creator which means they can trust you.

Final Thoughts

The perfect About Me post doesn’t just describe you—it sells your value, personality, and professionalism without coming across as “salesy.” That’s the sweet spot in adult content marketing. You’re using warmth, trust, structure, and subtle persuasion tactics to make people feel safe and excited to buy.
