All users are no longer able to change your username no matter how the account was created. Previously, if you had created your account with SSO, you could change the username that was generated for you within 30 days if the account did not vote or comment. Now, you are required to select a username when creating your account. This was a change that was gradually rolled out to all users. The Help Center articles have been updated to reflect this change
